A beautiful antique original Wedgwood Diana the Huntress cameo ring crafted in 9 carat gold dating back to 1930. The focal point of this wonderful Art Deco navette ring is a beautiful blue cameo with an intricately carved image of Diana the Huntress of Roman Mythology poised alongside a majestic stag. This classical motif embodies strength, grace and the beauty of the natural world. The cameo is stamped to the rear with the Wedgwood makers mark serving as a seal of quality and the rich heritage associated with their pieces. It is securely held in a bezel setting ensuring its protection whilst also allowing it to take centre stage. The gold perfectly compliments the blue hue of the cameo and has a wonderful warm tone and soft patina from previous wear which cannot be replicated, adding antique character to the ring. Adding further to the allure of this wonderful piece is the Chester hallmark to the inner shank. The Chester Assay Office in the UK closed down in the 1960s making pieces that bear this mark all the more special as they are now few and far between. Chemicals and chlorine can damage jewellery. It is recommended that you remove it when using body care products, spraying perfume or hairspray, bathing, swimming and whilst doing housework.
Settings and stones can be damaged by accidentally striking the hand against a hard surface. It is best to remove rings when carrying out any manual work or gardening.
To clean your jewellery use tepid water and a few drops of mild soap, a soft jewellery brush or cloth.
Extra care should be taken with opal, turquoise and pearl as these are porous so soaking should be avoided. To clean wipe with a damp soft cloth and avoid extreme changes in temperature.
When you are not wearing your jewellery it is best stored away in a suitable jewellery box for safekeeping.
